We believe true academic success comes from more than just getting through tonight’s homework. It is about uncovering and addressing the root causes of learning challenges.
Core Approach Learning was founded in 2025 by lifelong educators Mark DiDonato and Jamie Lutz, who share a passion for helping students succeed. The mission is simple: identify the foundational gaps holding students back and rebuild those skills with proven strategies that create lasting confidence and growth.
Meet the Team
Mark DiDonato, Ph.D.
Hi, I’m Mark! I handle the math portion of this operation. I earned a Ph.D. from Florida State University, along with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Towson University. For my day job, I am an Associate Teaching Professor in the Department of Sport Management at FSU.
Although I have spent 15 years teaching at the college level, some of my most rewarding work has come from tutoring younger students as an AVID and GEAR UP mentor in public schools, at Mathnasium®, or working privately with families.
My wife Kari and I welcomed our first child, Cole, into the world in April 2025 (pictured above with our dog Harper).
Jamie Lutz, M.S.
Hi! I am Jamie, an Instructional Designer at the Florida State University Office of Digital Learning and Academic Technology. I attended Florida State University for a BA in American History and a MS in Social Science Education.
I am a former K-12 social science teacher who taught a variety of social science courses, mentored interns, and led the high school Model United Nations team. After returning to school for a second Master’s in Instructional Systems and Learning Technologies, I transitioned to Instructional Design in higher education.
